Day Wireless Systems Acquires New Tower: Flat Top Butte

PORTLAND, OR, August 13th – Day Wireless Systems has acquired the tower site, Flat Top Butte, located in Jerome, Idaho.

Flat Top Butte

Flat Top Butte features an 80′ self-supported tower and concrete shelter currently used for television broadcasting but the site is available for a variety of users. Flat Top Butte is a popular and primary communications hub in south central Idaho.

“We are very excited with this acquisition because it accomplishes a specific goal we have been diligently pursuing: statewide coverage.  Flat Top Butte bridges the coverage gap between our Boise towers and our eastern Idaho sites.  We are pleased to offer our customers infrastructure that essentially covers the major transportation route across southern Idaho from border to border.” – Bethany Davidson, Contracts and Business Development Manager

This site bridges the gap between the Boise area sites purchased as part of the Gem State acquisition and the Clark Wireless sites acquired earlier this year that are located farther east in Pocatello and Idaho Falls. DWS now maintains a footprint that spans southern Idaho from the Oregon border to Montana.

Day Wireless Systems owns, operates, and manages more than 200 communications facilities.  DWS leases tower space to a variety of wireless operators and welcomes build to suit tower opportunities. DWS is the largest full service wireless integrator in the West, providing a full package of services for wireless voice, data, and video applications.  The privately-held company was founded in 1969 and is operated by third and fourth generation family members.  Corporate operations are located in Portland, Oregon with 28 field locations to support operations.

For information regarding the new communications facilities and a map of the sites, please contact the Tower Sites Department at 503-659-1240 or dwssites@daywireless.com.
