IWCE/MOTOROLA CHANNEL PARTNER EXPO
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE STAFF

Day Wireless Systems recently attended the Motorola Channel Partner Expo and International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) shows. Here are some highlights from some of the Day Wireless attendees:
“I'm excited about our opportunity to promote Emergency Call Works E911 systems. Besides the ability to take standard 911 calls, the future holds the ability to accept text messages and video after govt regulations are rectified. The best-selling feature though was the ability for a dispatcher to actually see on their screen by a mapping feature where the calls are coming from. That way when an accident occurs and many people call it in, the dispatcher can see that the call is coming from the same location and they can prioritize the other 911 calls that are coming in from other locations. All this from a completely IP based platform allows our customers the lowest total cost of ownership.”

John Howard
Northern California Area Sales Manager

“We are getting a great firmware enhancement for our TRBO radios that are going to help make site roaming more intuitive and effective. This will help make sure our customers are getting “best service” from our sites and not just next in line qualifier.”

Lane Falkner
Communications Systems Manager “Being able to speak with the people who develop products and ask them how to position the product was valuable. It was very valuable for me to sit and speak with Motorola Senior leadership. I was able to have conversations with Jack Molloy about the struggles of funding with rural fire and police departments.”

Ben Labes
Wireless Systems Account Manager

“I am very excited about the APX 8000 radio. It’s an all-band radio that is much smaller and lighter than the competition.”

Aaron Gant
Area Sales Manager (Oregon)

“The product that I learned a lot about is the Solid Technologies Public Safety Express DAS system. It is a system that is made specifically to handle 700/800 Public Safety only DAS systems to meet Fire Code. Because of its specific market that it is attacking, it makes for an easy, low cost fiber system that we can utilize when contractors need a fairly large DAS system that only needs to meet the Fire Code guidelines.”

Jim Muzynoski
Strategic Account Manager

TRANSFORMING MANUFACTURING
WITH DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS

KEEP WORKERS SAFE IN THE WORKPLACE
CUT DOWNTIME DOWN TO SIZE
CONTROL COSTS WHILE ACHIEVING BOTH

Manufacturers everywhere are maneuvering through a minefield of safety issues in their plants. As a responsible employer and business owner, you’re under increasing pressure to safeguard your employees and minimize the financial impact of workplace injuries.

Recent data shows that there were 12 million workers employed in manufacturing in the U.S. in 2012, and nearly 503,000 reported injuries and illnesses – a rate of 4.3 cases for every 100 full-time workers. More than 50 percent of these cases were so serious, they involved days away from work, job transfers or restrictions. The financial fall-out is far-reaching for manufacturers. The ten most disabling U.S. workplace injuries totaled $51.1 billion in direct compensation to U.S. workers in 2010. A single fatality or severe irreversible disability to just one worker cost a company over $1.3 million in 2011.

After safety, your next priority is minimizing downtime. It’s so damaging to productivity that up to 40 percent of profits are lost to unplanned downtime each year. Downtime not only impedes workflow it creates a domino effect that impacts output. Manufacturers of every size know that unexpected delays and costly disruptions take a huge bite out of revenue-generating production.
